Making disciples of Jesus Christ that transform the world

Rev. Joseph DeWitte

Pastor Joe grew up in a small town in North Carolina. After graduating Cum Laude from North Carolina Wesleyan College with a B.A. in Psychology, Joe attended seminary at Duke University. While there, he met and married Amy (from Newport News, VA) and the two have been a clergy couple throughout their marriage (Amy is appointed to Trinity UMC in Homewood). While in seminary, the North Alabama conference sent recruiters to Duke. They gave away free coffee, which was all it took for Amy and Joe to move to Alabama. Pastor Joe completed doctoral studies in church leadership at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C. and graduated with honors in 2018. Joe renews himself through reading, woodworking, spoiling his dogs (Maggie and Lilly, golden retrievers), and spending as much time as possible outdoors fishing, hunting, or hiking.
