Traditional Worship Leader

         Susan Bradshaw

      Susan Bradshaw

Susan Bradshaw was born and raised in Alabama. She began taking piano lessons at age 7 and continued through high school and college. She graduated from Erwin High School in 1975 and from the University of Montevallo in 1981 where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree. She comes from a musical family. Her father was a Minister of Music in a Baptist church for over 50 years. Her oldest brother worked behinds the scenes in audio for Bill Gaither and Dallas Holm. Her younger brother, who has a Master’s Degree in Music, is currently a Minister of Music in a Baptist church in Arkansas. Her mother sang in the church choir for many, many years. Susan herself worked behind the scenes with her husband at that time promoting Amy Grant concerts around the United States. They also worked with other musicians like Michael W. Smith and Kathy Troccoli.

Susan’s musical experience includes playing the piano for children’s choirs, youth choirs and adult choirs beginning while in high school and college. She was the pianist and organist at First Baptist Center Point, New Georgia Baptist in Fultondale, and occasionally filled in at several churches in Tennessee.  She became the pianist here at Pinson UMC in 2006 when Rev. Dr. Ron Gonia convinced her to audition. He advised her to not turn down the chance to “sight-read” the music in that audition. In 2017, she also accepted the position of Traditional Worship Leader.

She has a wonderful husband, Denver, and 3 children living – Russell, Karen, and Sarah (husband, Jon) – and one in heaven, Sarah’s twin, Skye. God has also blessed her with 4 grandchildren – Mason, Hallie, Skye, and Alek.

Favorite verse

(which also has a tune to go with it!)

"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me, and gave Himself for me." - Galatians 2:20
